The Grant sights look nice on the outside...you apply thinking one thing...it takes you far far out...

I did a very stupid thing out of desparation. I went to the America's Got Funding...paid 29.99 to registration fee only to get 134 pages of stuff that is very discouraging. It's about researching, writing, submitting for a grant. Repeatly tells you that you have to write and rewrite and submit everything exactly the way the Grantors want. This is ok. I don't mind putting forth the effort in doing as they instruct. But can't things be as simple as filling out an application? In order to apply you have to research a lot...many hours of grant info. Write a grant proposal and are told even if you are a good writer, you still may be turned down! I didn't have the 29.99 to pay but I was under the impression it was an application fee. I am so stupid. Now I have lost the money. What am I to do now?

Application/Resume Tip

Something that you can do to help your odds of securing a job is to give the HR Dept. a call a week after you apply for the position or even show up at the place of business and inquire in person. With the high unemployment rate there is a higher ratio of applicants to positions and your application may get lost in the pile. At least it may get you reconsidered for the position. Be sure not to hound or repeatedly contact the potential employer as this is considered rude and will lessen your chances of secureing the position.

I found this site online.  It allows you to fill out a grant application and send to one of their grant providers free of all charges...I believe you can only do this once but hey, you might get lucky! good luck!
